Bespoke Measurements & Fit

Introduction

Getting the fit right is one of the most important parts of making your bespoke jacket. As part of your consultation, our team will review your measurements, body type, fit preferences and any adjustments needed for your jacket.

Please do not submit measurements or specifications when purchasing your consultation. We will contact you with instructions.

Body Measurements

Accurate measurements are essential for a custom-fitted jacket.

If you are not completely confident in your ability to take accurate measurements, or you do not have someone experienced to assist you, you must have your measurements taken by a professional tailor.

We know how to make a good jacket, but we can’t do that work properly with inaccurate measurements. Take the time to get this part right so we can do ours.

Please provide measurements in inches, follow the instructions carefully and reach out if you have questions.

Measuring an Existing Jacket

We strongly recommend measuring a structured jacket that fits you well and resembles the style you’re purchasing. A well-fitting suit jacket can also be a useful reference.

Before taking your measurements, please send us a photograph of the jacket so our team can confirm that it is a suitable reference.

Lay the jacket flat, with the front fastened, and measure the following:

Chest: Pit to pit, measured straight across.
Shoulders: Shoulder seam to shoulder seam, across the back.
Back length: From the collar seam straight down to the hem.
Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam straight to the cuff.

Photographs showing the measuring tape are required for every measurement. The tape must be pulled taut, positioned straight and flat, with both measurement points and the reading clearly visible. Please follow the examples exactly. Written measurements alone are not sufficient.

If we cannot clearly verify the measurements in your photographs, we may ask you to take them again.

Required Photographs

Please send clear front, side and back photographs wearing a tight-fitting T-shirt tucked into your pants.

Stand naturally with your arms relaxed at your sides.

If you are providing a reference jacket, we also require front, side and back photographs of you wearing that jacket, fully fastened, with your arms relaxed at your sides.

Please follow the photographic examples provided. These photographs help us assess your posture, body proportions and the way your existing jacket fits.

Fit Preferences

Let us know how you prefer your jackets to fit, what you intend to wear underneath them and whether you regularly experience any particular fitting problems.

A jacket intended to be worn over a T-shirt will fit differently from one designed to accommodate heavier clothing.

Our team will review your measurements and preferences in relation to the jacket model you’ve selected.

Canvas Fit Jackets

Some orders need a canvas fit jacket before we cut the final jacket in leather, depending on the style and your proportions. We'll let you know if yours does once we review your measurements. You're also welcome to request one.

Standard Stock Sizing

If you prefer to order a standard stock size without going through the individual sizing review, you may choose to do so.

Customers who decline sizing verification must confirm that decision in writing before production. Without a fitting review, we cannot independently verify how the selected size will fit.
