Wool Canuck Vintage Camp Blanket, Pendleton, SIZE 42
We adapted the Canuck from a very simple early Shanhouse and Sons work jacket from the 1920s. Shanhouse was a glove maker from Russia who set up a manufacturer in Illinois. Their first products included leather jackets and the invention of the mechanics coverall. The base jacket is one of the earliest we owned from the company. We studied the basic design which was clean and simple and used the body shape of the original jacket with the slight flare at the bottom and added a little more sleeve shape to create a better elbow. The jacket features striking low slat pockets and a simple collar that exposes the beautiful wool liner with lovely corduroy trims on the undersides of the belt, cuffs and collar. Buttons are old stock 4 hole 1940s buttons with Pendleton wool liners or Japanese recreated 1940s Troy liner. This is a rare one time sample made of a vintage 1940s blanket. You will be the only one who owns this jacket and it is stellar for winter and fall.
Note: This jacket runs large. For best results, we recommend purchasing one size smaller for a normal fit, two sizes smaller for a tight fit, same size for a looser fit.
