Score Racing Shirt (1940)
One of the most Iconic designs to come out of Toronto in the 1940s from Score Sportwear Co. This jacket is so rare and one of the favorites from David Himel’s personal collection. While impractical to wear wide open, this jacket looks elegant and futuristic while closed. We own the oldest version of this jacket from the late 1940s and used it to imagine a jacket that would have been made in the 1930s with this design. A simple curved yolk and rough round elbow pads and added 1930s ball and chain chest zippers. To solve the issue of opening the front zipper we use old stock 1960s Lightning two way zippers. The back buckles are old stock decorative 1940s stamped buckles.
Note: This jacket runs large. For best results, we recommend purchasing one size smaller for a normal fit, two sizes smaller for a tight fit, same size for a looser fit.
